In the heart of Kenya, families grapple with the relentless challenges of HIV/AIDS and other illnesses, fearing their children will one day become orphans. At LOMAMO, we’re not just providing healthcare; we’re extending a lifeline of hope, compassion, and support to these families as they confront the harsh realities of HIV/AIDS and other debilitating illnesses in Kenya. Our mission is simple yet profound: to prevent children from becoming orphans by nurturing parents and families back to health.
When hospitalization becomes necessary, we ensure swift admissions, advocating for the patient to ensure quality of care. This offers peace of mind to families during challenging times, without worrying about a hospital bill.
We understand the comfort and security home environments provide. That’s why we seamlessly transition patients between hospital and home care, delivering expert medical assistance right when and where they need it.
Our holistic approach includes rehabilitation support, promoting recovery and enhancing the quality of life for both patients and families. When a patient is discharged from our program, we refer them to partners who provide food, life-skills training and the know-how, to develop a small business for financial stability.
Beyond medical care, with love and compassion, we provide essential emotional and spiritual support, meeting our patients right where they are. By coming alongside our patients, they become encouraged, feeling valued with a hopeful outlook.
In many Kenya government hospitals, food is not provided to the patients. To combat malnutrition and support healing, we bring hospital patients a nutritionally dense bag of food, including some combination of milk, eggs, porridge and fruit. For our home-based patients we make weekly deliveries of Nutritious healthy food, ensuring our patients have access to vital nutrition to heal properly.
Through your support, we cover the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) premium for our patients, alleviating the financial burden on families and ensuring access to comprehensive healthcare services. Currently, NHIF costs only $4 per month. This typically includes all in-patient costs, out-patient doctor visits, most labs, various tests and medication.
Led by Washington Ayub Odero, a distinguished Medical Psychologist, our hospital liaison and his team are committed to serving with compassion and expertise. Each team member, and all home-based caregivers undergo rigorous training, ensuring the highest standards of care for every family we serve.
With your generous support, we can continue to bridge the gap between hospital and home care, providing comfort, care, and hope to families in need. Join us in transforming lives and building brighter futures for those facing life-threatening circumstances.
Take action today and make a difference in the lives of families in Kenya. Your support matters more than ever.
