Three missionaries from California. Dozens of patients in Kenyan wards. One unstoppable mission — to prevent children from becoming orphans and carry the love of God to those abandoned to die.

They came without fanfare — only compassion.

Steve, Marina, and Bill boarded their flight from California carrying no medical equipment, no fame, and no agenda beyond one simple calling: to sit with those whom the world has forgotten, to hold the hand of the dying, and to remind a patient in a crowded Kenyan ward that they are seen, loved, and not alone, and that God loves them.

LOMAMO Foundation Kenya coordinates these visits with unwavering dedication, partnering with believers and medical practitioners from across the globe to serve Kenya’s most vulnerable patients in their homes and taking them to hospitals — many of them dangerously ill with no family nearby, many on the edge of leaving children without a parent.

This is not charity tourism. This is the Church in action — sleeves rolled up, masks on, kneeling beside beds, praying with trembling hands, and bringing medication to patients, additional foodstuff, multivitamins, and other supplements to the patients.

“We go not because we have all the answers, but because love demands presence. The greatest medicine we carry is simply showing up.”

What We Do at the Hospital

Hospital Ministry

We take very sick patients at home to the hospital and visit those admitted in the wards — praying, comforting, encouraging them, and following up with hospitals to help them receive the best treatment.

Orphan Prevention

Our core mission is to keep families together. By supporting parents and children through illness, we protect children from orphanhood.

Sharing God’s Love

Faith is our foundation. Every visit is rooted in the Gospel — bringing hope and eternal love to those who feel most forgotten by the world.

A Prayer in the Hospital Ward, a new beginning for the sick.

In the women’s ward, Kezia, a mother of two, sat on the edge of her bed — her children waiting at home, her body too weak to walk unassisted. The team arrived not just with encouragement but with a practical gift: a walker to restore her independence.

Moments like this define the LOMAMO approach — meeting spiritual needs, medical needs, and physical needs with equal urgency. Marina, Bill, and Steve leaned close, and together they prayed for healing, for her children, for the strength to recover and walk home. This is what it looks like when the Church shows up whole — not just with words, but with hands, resources, time, and tears.

The abandoned sick deserve more than silence.

Many sick people in Kenyan communities suffering from HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis are left to die at home. No one to advocate for them, bring them food, take them to the hospital, buy them medication, or hold their hand through the night. They are alone — and without intervention, some will die without hearing a kind word.

LOMAMO was founded on the conviction that the Church must go to these places. Not with condescension, but with deep, equal human love — the kind that prays in masks, sits in uncomfortable chairs, and refuses to look away.

Answer the Call — You Are Needed

Will you answer the call?

LOMAMO Foundation is actively seeking medical professionals, nurses, doctors, counselors, prayer warriors, and compassionate believers ready to serve the sick in all capacities. No prior experience in Africa is required — only a willing heart and a readiness to meet people in their most vulnerable moments. Each mission lasts several days and is coordinated by our team in Kenya. You bring your skills, your faith, and your presence.

A generous donor has offered a $30,000 matching challenge to help expand this life-saving work. Every gift given toward this cause will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $30,000 — doubling the impact for sick and vulnerable patients who urgently need care, prayer, advocacy, transportation, food, and medical support.

The need in this area is great. Many sick people are still waiting for someone to come alongside them, help them reach the hospital, and remind them that they are not forgotten. Your gift today will help LOMAMO respond to this urgent need and bring the love of Christ to more patients and families in Kenya.

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40
